The future isn’t what it used to be.
In a few short months, a global pandemic has changed the way the world works and revealed where it doesn’t work. This unprecedented upheaval has put the plans and objectives of both individuals and companies into a state of uncertainty. And in many cases, the futures we thought we could count on are simply no more.
Rebuilding the Future is a program of applied futurism intended to produce industrial strength innovation. It’s been collaboratively devised by Mathieu Aguesse, CEO of Schoolab, San Francisco and Ron Martinez, Principal of San Francisco experience and product design firm, Headcanon. It is being publicly presented for the first time here at this Minalogic event.
In this presentation, filled with examples and visual references, you’ll learn about the practice of Design Fiction, a proven way of envisioning plausible, desirable–and undesirable–futures through the creation of high-fidelity artifacts from those futures. You’ll also see how that practice can be coupled with formal invention and intellectual property asset creation processes to help ensure a financial return on innovation.
Please join us. Because in a world whose future is suddenly uncertain, the ability to engage in practical, applied futurism is no longer a nice-to-have. It is a necessity.
